The Polar Bear Foundation organizes annual events to raise funding for academic, athletic, and cultural programs for the students, teachers, and staff members of the Northern York County School District in York County, Pennsylvania. The monies raised are distributed for funding student scholarships, grants for teachers/staff to purchase needed items, and district-wide improvements to support programs and projects that align with our mission: To build a stronger community.
The PBF has funded/sponsored grants for:
- Grants to teachers and staff for classroom improvements
- Checks to elementary PTOs
- Scholarships to college or, trade or technical school
- HS Splatterfest
- Softball batting cage renovation
- Working tables for FACS
- Music software programs and laptops
- NHS Cheer signs
- Creative Writing Club
- Guest composers for band and orchestra concerts
- Parade March Composition, and much more.

GALA
The Polar Bear Foundation’s annual Gala celebrates the Foundation’s success in supporting the students, teachers, and staff of the Northern York County School District.
The Gala is also our largest fundraising event of the year. But it is also our favorite! This is where we get to thank last year’s donors for all they have done for the District! Our donors are THE reason the Foundation is successful.
This event is a fun reason to dress up, eat tasty food, and enjoy time with friends, family, and community members. Please visit our Gala site for tickets and sponsorship opportunities.

Attention golfers and businesses! Join the PBF in supporting educational and growth opportunities at the Northern York County School District by participating in the annual golf outing! All this fun on a Friday morning raises funds for a very important cause—the future of the education of students and staff of NYCSD.
Your participation in the golf outing or sponsorship as a business directly contributes to grants that are applied for the 2024-25 school year. ANYONE CAN COOK
“Anyone Can Cook” is an every-other-year event hosted by the PBF that is a friendly cooking competition in which chefs compete in four food categories for first place. Attendees enjoy a variety of food and drinks. The event also features live music, local craft beverages, a best-decorated booth competition, and other fun activities.
